Wayland Little League is required by Little League International and Massachusetts state law to perform annual background checks on all of our managers and coaches. It is imperative that you and you assistant coaches fill out the background check forms before starting any group or team activities, practices or games.
With Wayland's adoption of Little League International, Wayland Little League (WLL) employs a dual-database screening program for all Coaches and Volunteers which is required annually:
1) The Massachusetts CORI search, as required by MA state law [Step ONE below], and,
2) First Advantage, a national criminal records database search, as required by Little League International [Step TWO below].
All Wayland coaches and volunteers must submit to both records searches as a condition of participation. Per Wayland Little League policy and Massachusetts State law, the searches must be conducted and approved before adults are allowed to coach or interact with children in any team event, whether practices or games.

The WLL Safety administrator will request your CORI and First Advantage reports. Upon completion of the search, the First Advantage report will be mailed to the email address provided in Step TWO above. Both records will be retained in the WLL's online accounts until the next season.
